There are many different flavoured filters out there, all fit for applying to the whole track, bus, or master. Best described as 'less static equalisation', these handy production tools are supported by a mass of parameters. The Sugar Bytes WOW 2 is definitely such an effect but it can only be mammoth among filters. This high-grade plug-in offers four filter groups: LPF, HPF, BPF and Special. The Special group is like a notch and comb, while an 8-pole filter (48dB) sits in the LPF group. Talkbox has also been thrown into the bank of filters for humanised formant, and that's even before you reach the set of dynamic filter controls. LFO, envelope-follower, 16-step sequencer and wobble, and to thicken everything up, there's an alias-free distortion. In fact, with the amount of sound-design potential provided, we could almost be describing a synthesizer.
